As a Solu­ti­on Archi­tect with us, you will advi­se our Euro­pean cus­to­mers from the armed forces and defen­se indus­try on com­plex solu­ti­ons and in mee­ting requi­re­ments, from asses­sing the cur­rent situa­ti­on to fin­ding solu­ti­ons and imple­men­ting a wide ran­ge of tech­no­lo­gies.

  • Loca­ti­on: Bern + home office (max. 2 days). Working on site at the customer’s pre­mi­ses is pre­fer­red.

Sup­port our cus­to­mers in the defen­se indus­try with their digi­ta­liza­ti­on

As a Solu­ti­on Archi­tect, you will be part of a cross-func­tion­al ser­vice deli­very team working direct­ly at the inter­face with cus­to­mers in an agi­le envi­ron­ment. In our small, inter­na­tio­nal team in Bern, we value fle­xi­bi­li­ty, mutu­al sup­port, and open com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on across lan­guage and cul­tu­ral bar­riers. What you can expect

You will be respon­si­ble for ever­y­thing from requi­re­ments ana­ly­sis to the imple­men­ta­ti­on of solu­ti­ons-tail­o­red to the indi­vi­du­al needs of our cus­to­mers and part­ners in Switz­er­land and Cen­tral Euro­pe. You will sup­port the inte­gra­ti­on and con­fi­gu­ra­ti­on of our soft­ware pro­ducts into indi­vi­du­al sys­tem envi­ron­ments.

In addi­ti­on, you will take on the fol­lo­wing tasks:

  • Coor­di­na­ting stra­te­gies and tech­ni­cal requi­re­ments manage­ment within the frame­work of over­all stra­te­gies and solu­ti­ons
  • Advi­sing our cus­to­mers on the deve­lo­p­ment and imple­men­ta­ti­on of our sys­tem or the design and deve­lo­p­ment of medi­um-sized to lar­ge sys­tems
  • Sup­port­ing pro­ject mana­gers with tech­ni­cal issues/quotation acti­vi­ties and work­shops
  • Acti­ve par­ti­ci­pa­ti­on in the fur­ther deve­lo­p­ment of soft­ware pro­ducts and enhance­ments
  • Sup­port in ans­we­ring tech­ni­cal pro­duct ques­ti­ons
  • Respon­si­bi­li­ty for set­ting up trai­ning and test envi­ron­ments
  • Con­duc­ting tech­ni­cal and pro­duct archi­tec­tu­re trai­ning cour­ses

What you bring

  • Degree in com­pu­ter sci­ence, engi­nee­ring, or simi­lar
  • Expe­ri­ence in the defen­se or mili­ta­ry sec­tor is an advan­ta­ge
  • Very good under­stan­ding of IP net­work con­fi­gu­ra­ti­ons (TCP/IP, UDP, SSL/TLS, DHCP, DNS, NAT)
  • In-depth know­ledge of IT plat­forms such as Win­dows, Linux, or Android, as well as tech­no­lo­gies such as Docker, Kuber­netes, sto­rage solu­ti­ons, and data­ba­se sys­tems
  • In-depth expe­ri­ence with soft­ware infra­struc­tu­re, hard­ware inte­gra­ti­on with various pro­to­cols and inter­faces, and soft­ware archi­tec­tu­re with design pat­terns and frame­works such as iSAQB, TOGAF, or NATO Archi­tec­tu­re Frame­work
  • Expe­ri­ence with pro­po­sal pre­pa­ra­ti­on, esti­ma­tes, and requi­re­ments manage­ment
  • Addi­tio­nal know­ledge — advan­ta­ge­ous but not essen­ti­al: Admi­nis­tra­ti­on and ope­ra­ti­on of mili­ta­ry spe­cia­list sys­tems, expe­ri­ence with tac­ti­cal radio equip­ment and radio net­works, know­ledge of ITIL and Scrum
  • Lan­guages: Eng­lish (flu­ent), Ger­man or French are bene­fi­ci­al
  • Strong con­sul­ting skills, abili­ty to work in a team and a solu­ti­on-ori­en­ted approach
  • Expe­ri­ence in inter­na­tio­nal coope­ra­ti­on
  • Wil­ling­ness to tra­vel main­ly in the Bern/Thun regi­on and occa­sio­nal­ly within Cen­tral Euro­pe
  • Ful­film­ent of the requi­re­ments for a secu­ri­ty check (PSP-11)
