We’­re loo­king for a Soft­ware Engi­neer to join our team in Zurich on a tem­po­ra­ry basis. In this role, you’ll make signi­fi­cant, lar­ge­ly inde­pen­dent tech­ni­cal con­tri­bu­ti­ons to our pro­jects, taking owner­ship of end-to-end tasks with mini­mal over­sight. If you’­re a proac­ti­ve pro­blem-sol­ver with a strong back­ground in soft­ware deve­lo­p­ment and a keen eye for sys­tem health and sca­la­bi­li­ty, we encou­ra­ge you to app­ly.

Your Respon­si­bi­li­ties:

  • Deve­lo­p­ment & Ope­ra­ti­ons: Wri­te pro­duct or sys­tem deve­lo­p­ment code with mini­mal assis­tance. Con­duct com­pre­hen­si­ve test­ing (inte­gra­ti­on, per­for­mance, stress, secu­ri­ty, load, fuzz) and design test­a­ble code. Con­tri­bu­te to qua­li­fi­ca­ti­on, end-user docu­men­ta­ti­on, pro­duc­tion deployment/monitoring, pro­cess auto­ma­ti­on, and cus­to­mer sup­port.

  • Sys­tem Health & Impro­ve­ment: Set up or enhan­ce test, moni­to­ring, and sur­vey infrastructure/processes. Prio­ri­ti­ze code health and sys­tem maintainability/scalability. Tria­ge, debug, track, and resol­ve pro­duct or sys­tem issues by ana­ly­zing their source and impact. Iden­ti­fy and address tech­ni­cal debt to impro­ve long-term sys­tem inte­gri­ty.

  • Col­la­bo­ra­ti­on & Review: Review code from other engi­neers, pro­vi­ding feed­back to ensu­re best prac­ti­ces (style, accu­ra­cy, test­a­bi­li­ty, effi­ci­en­cy). Con­tri­bu­te to exis­ting docu­men­ta­ti­on and edu­ca­tio­nal con­tent, adap­ting it based on pro­duct updates and user feed­back.

  • Mini­mum Qua­li­fi­ca­ti­ons:

  • 2 years of expe­ri­ence in soft­ware deve­lo­p­ment using one or more pro­gramming lan­guages, OR 1 year of expe­ri­ence with an advan­ced degree.

  • 2 years of expe­ri­ence with data struc­tures or algo­rith­ms.

  • 1 year of expe­ri­ence with ML infra­struc­tu­re (e.g., model deploy­ment, eva­lua­ti­on, opti­miza­ti­on, data pro­ces­sing, debug­ging).

  • 1 year of expe­ri­ence with one or more of the fol­lo­wing: Speech/audio tech­no­lo­gies, rein­force­ment lear­ning, ML infra­struc­tu­re, or a spe­cia­liza­ti­on in ano­ther ML field.

  • Requi­red Skills:

  • Pro­fi­ci­en­cy in: Data struc­tures and algo­rith­ms, Debug­ging, dia­gno­sis and reso­lu­ti­on, Test engi­nee­ring, Pro­gramming, Code and sys­tem health, Code com­pre­hen­si­on.
