About the job:

In a site- and func­tion-span­ning envi­ron­ment, the inter­di­sci­pli­na­ry sub-chap­ter CHU & CB Inte­gra­ti­on & Test­ing within the RDS Sys­tem & Solu­ti­on Deve­lo­p­ment Chap­ter is respon­si­ble for the inte­gra­ti­on of hard­ware, soft­ware, con­su­ma­bles, and reagents, as well as the veri­fi­ca­ti­on and inter­nal vali­da­ti­on of dia­gno­stic instru­ments (hard­ware and soft­ware) to deli­ver inno­va­ti­ve, high-qua­li­ty, and relia­ble medi­cal devices that meet our cus­to­mers’ needs.

As a Sys­tem Inte­gra­ti­on Engi­neer, you will be respon­si­ble for car­ry­ing out assi­gned veri­fi­ca­ti­on and vali­da­ti­on acti­vi­ties in spe­ci­fic are­as, inclu­ding defi­ning, main­tai­ning, and exe­cu­ting test cases in clo­se coor­di­na­ti­on with test manage­ment.

In this role, you will be a mem­ber of a high-per­forming, cross-site deve­lo­p­ment team (Rot­kreuz and St. Cugat) and work clo­se­ly with the pro­duct defi­ni­ti­on team, hard­ware deve­lo­p­ment, and other pro­ject-rela­ted func­tions in all pha­ses of sys­tem deve­lo­p­ment.

The ide­al can­di­da­te:

Has com­ple­ted an app­ren­ti­ce­ship as a labo­ra­to­ry tech­ni­ci­an or holds a Bache­lor of Sci­ence (BSc) degree in a rele­vant tech­ni­cal or medi­cal field, as well as at least three years of expe­ri­ence in a rou­ti­ne dia­gno­stic labo­ra­to­ry. They will com­bi­ne tech­ni­cal under­stan­ding and an inte­rest in mecha­nics with a strong com­mit­ment to qua­li­ty (inclu­ding GxP), ide­al­ly with expe­ri­ence in hardware/software test­ing and know­ledge of coagu­la­ti­on or serum ana­ly­sis. Excel­lent Ger­man and Eng­lish skills (at least B2 level), team spi­rit, crea­ti­vi­ty, and a solu­ti­on-ori­en­ted approach com­ple­te the pro­fi­le.

Tasks & Respon­si­bi­li­ties:

  • Pro­vi­ding input for fea­si­bi­li­ty stu­dies, root cau­se inves­ti­ga­ti­ons and their exe­cu­ti­on in the BSL1/BSL2 labo­ra­to­ry, as well as ana­ly­zing and pre­sen­ting the results within the team
  • Crea­ting, main­tai­ning and veri­fy­ing hard­ware test cases in all life­cy­cle pha­ses (from ear­ly pro­duct deve­lo­p­ment to pro­duct main­ten­an­ce) taking into account the respec­ti­ve cus­to­mer work­flows
  • Exe­cu­ting and docu­men­ting test cases, inclu­ding docu­men­ting iden­ti­fied defects
  • Main­tai­ning labo­ra­to­ry equip­ment
  • Ensu­ring com­pli­ance with rele­vant pro­ces­ses, gui­de­lines and work ins­truc­tions

Must Haves:

  • Com­ple­ted labo­ra­to­ry tech­ni­ci­an app­ren­ti­ce­ship or a Bache­lor of Sci­ence (BSc) degree in a rele­vant tech­ni­cal or medi­cal field, such as medi­cal tech­no­lo­gy, bio­tech­no­lo­gy, life sci­en­ces or a rela­ted field
  • At least 3 years of pro­fes­sio­nal expe­ri­ence in a rou­ti­ne dia­gno­stic labo­ra­to­ry
  • Inte­rest in tech­no­lo­gy and mecha­nics
  • The abili­ty to actively con­tri­bu­te to team­work, inclu­si­on, and col­la­bo­ra­ti­on Con­tri­bu­ting to the exch­an­ge of ide­as and fos­te­ring a posi­ti­ve team spi­rit, mutu­al trust, and respect
  • Ger­man lan­guage skills (B2 and abo­ve) and Eng­lish lan­guage skills (B2 and abo­ve)

Nice to have:

  • Initi­al expe­ri­ence in hardware/software test­ing (at the instru­ment and sys­tem level)
  • Know­ledge of coagu­la­ti­on or serum test­ing
  • GxP know­ledge
  • Crea­ti­vi­ty and pro­blem-sol­ving skills (thin­king out­side the box)
