For our cli­ent, a lea­ding inter­na­tio­nal com­pa­ny based in Rot­kreuz, we are loo­king for a visio­na­ry and tech­ni­cal­ly-min­ded Hard­ware Pro­duct Owner to join the Instru­ment Deve­lo­p­ment team. In this role, you will bridge the gap bet­ween pro­duct stra­tegy and tech­ni­cal exe­cu­ti­on, ser­ving as the archi­tect of “the what and the why” for life-chan­ging phy­si­cal medi­cal devices.

Gene­ral Infor­ma­ti­on:

  • Start Date: ASAP (at the latest 01.05.2026)

  • Dura­ti­on: 1 year (initi­al con­tract with exten­si­on likely)

  • Work­place: Rot­kreuz

  • Workload: 100%

  • Remo­te/Home-Office: 1 day per week (20%) pos­si­ble

  • Tra­vel: Up to 10% (occa­sio­nal site visits to Ger­ma­ny)

Tasks & Respon­si­bi­li­ties:

  • Stra­te­gic Visi­on: In clo­se col­la­bo­ra­ti­on with Pro­duct Manage­ment, defi­ne the visi­on for com­pon­ents and sys­tems, ensu­ring the agi­le team ful­ly grasps the product’s pur­po­se and impact.

  • Requi­re­ments Engi­nee­ring: Trans­la­te high-level busi­ness needs into actionable, tech­ni­cal User Sto­ries, cle­ar­ly defi­ning the “what” for the engi­nee­ring team.

  • Back­log Orchestra­ti­on: Take full owner­ship of the Team Back­log. Lead the prio­ri­tiza­ti­on and esti­ma­ti­on of work packa­ges to ensu­re a ste­ady, high-value flow of deve­lo­p­ment.

  • Scope & Qua­li­ty Gover­nan­ce: Over­see prio­ri­tiza­ti­on during all stages of pro­duct crea­ti­on, ensu­ring all deli­ver­a­bles ali­gn strict­ly with the Defi­ni­ti­on of Done (DoD) and regu­la­to­ry requi­re­ments.

  • Cross-Func­tion­al Lea­der­ship: Navi­ga­te the com­ple­xi­ties of a team com­pri­sing Mecha­ni­cal, Elec­tri­cal, Soft­ware, and Firm­ware engi­neers to ensu­re a cohe­si­ve phy­si­cal pro­duct.

Qua­li­fi­ca­ti­ons (Must Haves):

  • Edu­ca­ti­on: Degree (BSc/MSc) in Elec­tri­cal Engi­nee­ring, Mecha­ni­cal Engi­nee­ring, or a rela­ted tech­ni­cal field.

  • Pro­fes­sio­nal Expe­ri­ence: Pro­ven track record as a Pro­duct Owner or Pro­ject Lead within a hard­ware-cen­tric envi­ron­ment, ide­al­ly in a regu­la­ted indus­try (MedTech/Healthcare).

  • Sys­tems Engi­nee­ring Exper­ti­se: Deep under­stan­ding of phy­si­cal pro­duct deve­lo­p­ment cons­traints, inclu­ding too­ling, Bill of Mate­ri­als (BOM), and lead times ver­sus soft­ware cycles.

  • Agi­le Pro­fi­ci­en­cy: Solid expe­ri­ence with Agi­le frame­works (SAFe, Scrum, or Kan­ban) appli­ed within com­plex engi­nee­ring con­texts.

  • IT Tool­kit: Pro­fi­ci­en­cy with Azu­re DevOps, SAP, and modern col­la­bo­ra­ti­on tools (Goog­le Suite).

  • Lan­guages: Fluen­cy in Eng­lish and Ger­man (writ­ten and spo­ken) is man­da­to­ry.

  • Soft Skills: Excep­tio­nal nego­tia­ti­on skills to pro­tect team focus and a natu­ral abili­ty to bridge the com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on gap bet­ween tech­ni­cal R&D teams and non-tech­ni­cal stake­hol­ders.

Nice to Haves:

  • Indus­try Con­text: Pre­vious expe­ri­ence navi­ga­ting the spe­ci­fic qua­li­ty and safe­ty stan­dards of the Healthcare/Diagnostics sec­tor.

  • Tech­ni­cal Tools: Fami­lia­ri­ty with MCAD envi­ron­ments or lar­ge-sca­le auto­ma­ti­on sys­tems.

  • Mind­set: A proac­ti­ve lea­der who thri­ves on sol­ving sys­te­mic chal­lenges and can trans­la­te abs­tract goals into con­cre­te engi­nee­ring mile­sto­nes.
