Join us with a commitment to help us bring about a more caring society, as Infrastructure System Engineer Our ICT Section consists of 20 highly skilled employees in diverse, interdisciplinary roles that support our entire operation and develop innovative ICT solutions for our mission. As a dynamically growing non-profit organisation with a global presence, we continuously work on transforming and future-proofing our ICT infrastructure and operational processes. To strengthen our team, we are looking for an ICT Infrastructure System Engineer (m/f/d) to actively shape the transformation of our ICT infrastructure and expand it in the long term. In this role, you will stand at the intersection of strategic planning and practical implementation, with the opportunity to develop our cloud transformation and architecture further, thereby significantly influencing the technological future of our organization. Your duties Infrastructure Design and Deployment
- Architect and implement secure, scalable, and resilient servers and storage systems.
- Configure and deploy hardware and software with a focus on security and high availability.
- Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure, primarily in Azure, including workload protection and configuration monitoring.
- Set up Infrastructure (On-Prem), Audits of VMs and health check,i.e. patch, migration.
- Monitoring Backup and implement all backup strategy.
System and Security Management
- Apply and enforce security best practices to operating systems, applications, and cloud environments.
- Implement and manage identity and access management (IAM) solutions.
- Continuously monitor, update, and patch systems to prevent vulnerabilities and exploits.
Security Operations
- Deploy technical security controls, such as encryption protocols and endpoint protection.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures.
Collaboration and Integration
- Work closely with DevOps, IT teams, and software vendor to ensure secure design and integration.
- Provide expertise in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible for automated deployments.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of configurations, security measures, and improvements.
- Prepare regular reports on system performance, vulnerabilities, and mitigation actions.
- Support ISOdocumentation and implementation.
Our requirements 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
System Administration Expertise:
- Proficiency in managing on-premises servers (Windows/Linux) and virtualized environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V).
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and backup/recovery solutions.
Azure Cloud Skills:
- Knowledge of Azure resource management, virtual networks, storage solutions, and Azure Active Directory.
- Experience in implementing hybrid cloud setups and ensuring seamless integration between on-prem and Azure environments.
Networking Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers.
- Ability to configure and troubleshoot connectivity between on-prem and Azure environments.
Monitoring and Security:
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, on-prem monitoring systems).
- Expertise in implementing security best practices, compliance policies, and threat management.
- Strong expertise in security tools, including vulnerability scanners and endpoint protection.
Automation and Scripting:
- Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automating deployments and system management tasks.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates or Terraform.
