The site in Visp, Switz­er­land is gro­wing and for our Spe­cia­li­zed Moda­li­ties orga­niza­ti­on, we are curr­ent­ly loo­king for a Mana­ger for Pro­cess and Data Ana­ly­tics (to join the MSAT Team) in Micro­bi­al Ope­ra­ti­on, to sup­port our Micro­bi­al manu­fac­tu­ring assets. The MSAT Mana­ger for Pro­cess and Data Ana­ly­tics is a key role within Micro­bi­al Ope­ra­ti­ons. Respon­si­bi­li­ties and acti­vi­ties focus on the manage­ment and use of Sta­tis­ti­ca Enter­pri­se / GDM (Glo­bal Data Mart) and pro­cess impro­ve­ment initia­ti­ves.

What you’ll do:

Data Manage­ment

  • Sup­port Sta­tis­ti­ca Enter­pri­se (Glo­bal Data Mart — GDM) for all pro­cess-rela­ted data

  • Com­pi­le and trans­fer pro­cess para­me­ter data to the GDM pro­duc­tion sys­tem

  • Vali­da­te GDM objects and crea­te queries (SQL)

  • Set up con­ti­nuous pro­cess veri­fi­ca­ti­on (CPV) and create/customize con­trol charts

  • Repre­sent MSAT Micro­bi­al as GDM SME within Lonza’s glo­bal net­work

  • Ali­gn with the glo­bal data manage­ment team and stay on track for sys­tem and/or pro­ce­du­ral updates

  • Ana­ly­ze data using sta­tis­ti­cal tools and soft­ware (e.g., JMP, SeeQ, SIM­CA, R) during pro­cess impro­ve­ment pro­jects or troubleshooting/investigations

  • Act as SPOC for soft­ware sys­tems manage­ment within MSAT Micro­bi­al, coor­di­na­ting licen­ses, IT net­work, and Share­Point super­vi­si­on

  • Ser­ve as SPOC to MSAT and Micro­bi­al ope­ra­ti­on orga­niza­ti­on

Pro­cess Impro­ve­ment

  • Ana­ly­ze pro­cess data using sta­tis­ti­cal tools and soft­ware (e.g., JMP, SeeQ, SIM­CA) during pro­cess impro­ve­ment pro­jects or troubleshooting/investigation

  • Model pro­ces­ses through time and moti­on stu­dies for cycle time impro­ve­ment, faci­li­ty fit assess­ment and debot­t­len­ecking

  • Pro­vi­de expert sup­port using biopro­cess engi­nee­ring tools (e.g., mixing stu­dies, CFD) to sup­port pro­cess sca­le-up

  • Eva­lua­te new trends and tech­no­lo­gies for data ana­ly­sis and pro­cess model­ling and lead the inte­gra­ti­on of new tech­no­lo­gies within our orga­niza­ti­on

  • Lead or sup­port ope­ra­tio­nal excel­lence pro­jects to impro­ve manu­fac­tu­ring pro­ces­ses using Six Sig­ma tools

What we’­re loo­king for:

  • Bio­che­mi­cal Engi­nee­ring or rela­ted field with pro­cess deve­lo­p­ment and manu­fac­tu­ring expe­ri­ence (USP and/or DSP) at the Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD level or equi­va­lent expe­ri­ence

  • Signi­fi­cant expe­ri­ence in data sci­ence and sta­tis­tics in bio­phar­ma, pre­fer­a­b­ly in micro­bi­al manu­fac­tu­ring

  • GMP expe­ri­ence and under­stan­ding of biopro­cess tech­no­lo­gy and com­pli­ance requi­re­ments

  • Excel­lent plan­ning and orga­ni­zing skills, inclu­ding pro­ject manage­ment and risk manage­ment

  • Abili­ty to build a strong net­work bey­ond work area and lead or dri­ve pro­jects in a matrix orga­niza­ti­on

  • Pro­fi­ci­en­cy in sta­tis­tics, sta­tis­ti­cal tools (e.g., MVA), and pre­fer­a­b­ly pro­cess mode­ling (e.g., Super­Pro Desi­gner or Sche­dule­Pro)

  • While not requi­red, a Green Belt cer­ti­fi­ca­ti­on (Lean Six Sig­ma) would be a valuable asset in this role

  • Good com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on skills in Eng­lish; Ger­man is a plus
